Intern or Volunteer at Brunel Park

We offer many opportunities for our community to support our mission through volunteering and internships (We offer stipends and/or school credit.) We are looking for volunteers, students, and partners to:

 Use existing source materials to compile a digital Catalogue Raisonne of Emile Brunel’s photographic output

  • Identify and document the photographers he taught and inspired as students at the NY Institute of Photography

  • Archive digital images and create an online searchable database of Brunel’s photographs and photographs of the sculptures

  • Create an annotated map with historical photographs documenting Brunel Park and Le Chalet Indien

  • Assist with creating educational programming and develop content for a variety of tours

  • Design original signage for the garden plants and sculptures

  • Design a guide to the Indigenously significant plants at Brunel Park using source material

  • Serve as greeters and docents on weekends

  • Help us during special events

  • Help produce content for our social media platforms and website

  • Work with us in the garden, maintaining the planting beds and helping with the installation of new plantings

  • Work with us to build an information kiosk

Meet Kai Meyer, our 2024 Brunel Park summer Intern! Kai Meyer is a student at Warren Wilson College studying communications and art. They hope to use their degree to support community-based solutions to climate change through writing, photography, and outdoor education. Kai is a writer, researcher and educator. Their hobbies are Landscape photography, Creative writing, and Environmentalism. We are looking forward to collaborating with you Kai and introducing you to our friends, followers, and community!

The Friends of Brunel Park are currently looking for passionate individuals to join our all-volunteer non-profit Board of Trustees to help us weave together the indigenous roots and history of the land with Emile Brunel’s artistic visionary sculpture park.

What is involved in being a Trustee of Brunel Park?  

  • Participate in strategic planning  

  • Develop educational and cultural programming 

  • Build community relationships 

  • Provide budgetary oversight 

  • Participate in fundraising 

  • Preserve, conserve, interpret, and celebrate this land and its history
